About Me
Carla Rocha
Postpartum Doula, Newborn Care Specialist, Pediatric Sleep Consultant, Lactation Educator, Childbirth Educator.
Carla’s journey into the world of doula work was inspired by a dear friend who has been a dedicated doula for many years. Recognizing Carla’s natural ability to support and care for families, her friend encouraged her to pursue this path. Since 2010, Carla has been devoted to working with newborns and young children, caring for over 70 children, including those with special needs and multiples. Her diverse experience also includes roles as a dance teacher, Au Pair in Spain and the USA, and nanny.
Carla is a Lactation and Childbirth Educator, Certified Newborn Care Specialist, Birth and Postpartum Doula, and Sleep Consultant. She is also the proud owner of Nurturing Hands Doulas, where she and her team provides support to families, including breastfeeding assistance, sleep training, extended maternal care, and guidance through the early stages of bringing a new baby home.
Her passion for supporting families deepened after witnessing firsthand the positive impact a restful night’s sleep can have on parents and their postpartum experience. Carla is dedicated to educating and empowering new parents, ensuring they feel supported and confident.
Outside of her professional life, Carla loves exploring the Bay Area with her boyfriend, taking her dog (a miniature schnauzer) for walks, traveling (having visited 24 countries), and spending time with her family in Brazil.

Frequently Asked Questions
A doula provides physical, emotional, and informational support during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Unlike medical professionals who focus on clinical care, doulas focus exclusively on your comfort, confidence, and overall physical and mental health.
When you work with our agency, you gain access to a team of professionals with diverse specialties rather than relying on a single person. If your primary doula becomes unavailable, we ensure seamless backup coverage so you’re never without support.
We proudly serve the entire Bay Area, including San Francisco, Marin, East Bay, South Bay, and Peninsula.
While most insurance plans don’t cover doula services directly, many families use their HSA/FSA accounts to pay for our services. We also accept Carrot Fertility benefits, which many Bay Area employers offer.
For birth support, we recommend booking by your second trimester as our calendar fills quickly. For postpartum support, booking 2-3 months before your due date is ideal, though we occasionally can accommodate last-minute requests.
Absolutely! We believe the relationship between you and your doula is crucial. After your initial consultation, we’ll connect you with 2-3 doulas who match your needs so you can find the perfect fit.
Every birth client is assigned a primary doula and a backup doula. In the rare event that your primary doula is unavailable, your backup doula – whom you’ll also meet during your pregnancy – will help.
