Birth Doula
We understand that the best doula support is when the doula is present for the entirety of the labor and delivery process, providing physical, emotional, and informational support to the birthing person and their partner. Using a Birth Doula decreases your chances of cesarean, has been known to shorten labor and can decrease your need for medication.
Your Nurturing Doula will support you in the following ways:
- On-call support starting 37 weeks until your baby is born
- Guidance & emotional support for you/your partner before and during labor & birth
- Photos of birth and newborn if desired
- Help you write a birth wish list according to your preferences, guided by our expertise
- Share physical comfort measures that she or your partner can provide during labor and birth such as light touch massage, breathing patterns and position changes
- Help you advocate for yourself during birth
- Understands birth process; helps you understand how labor is progressing
- Gently helps initiate breastfeeding within an hour after birth
